This is my launch into the blogging world and I am so so glad that you have stumbled upon my little corner of the internet. My name is Katlyn + my goal with this blog is to connect with you on a deep level by sharing the things that captivate my heart and provide value to you as a mama striving to live life more abundantly. How about we get to know each other?
My husband and I have been married for seven years and we are expecting our baby girl in June. I tell people who ask that she is our first, but in reality we have a baby in heaven named Skylar Dillon, who I miscarried at five weeks. Our journey to conceive has not been easy, but after two and a half years of trying to conceive, lots of prayers and research, we finally get to welcome our rainbow baby next month.
During this process I started August Mamas, a business selling hand-lettered, sustainable shirts specifically for mamas and their kiddos. You can read more about my story as a maker here. My reason for beginning this blog is very similar to why I started creating tees; to rejoice in the beauty of motherhood and its messy moments while doing my part to live a cleaner life that honors mama earth.
So what can you expect on this lifestyle blog? In short, the weaving together of my adventure into motherhood, cultivating a life that is more sustainable, and creating a more meaningful home that advocates for a vibrant community. I am by no means an expert in any of these things, but I want to share with you the beauty, the messy, and my encouragement to you to continue seeking after a life that is overflowing with joy.
One of my goals in starting this blog is to create community and bring something of value to your busy lives. In my posts, you will find things like useful products that I've come across, DIY projects, free printable art and resources, how to create a welcoming home atmosphere, easy ways to live more sustainably, seasonal fashion trends, and how to host others well. I hope for this to be more than just you reading my words, but for us to build a community and impact each other's lives.
Now, I want to get to know you, my readers! Please drop a comment below introducing yourself or something that we share in so we can better connect. I am excited to bring you fresh content weekly that will help guide your own story.
